What three years of real-world use taught us

Running a product that people actually use every day teaches you things no prototype can. We learned that Tesla drivers love the precision of physical knobs. They love the confidence of pressing a button and knowing — without looking — that the command went through. They love the calm that comes from keeping their eyes on the road.

We also learned what great tactile control actually feels like. Not just functional, but satisfying. Natural. Like the controls were always meant to be there.

Ctrl-Platform is the result

Ctrl-Platform is not Ctrl-Bar 2. It is a complete rethink, built around everything we learned. It consists of three components that work together as one seamless system:

• Ctrl-Bar 2 — two precision aluminum knobs and 8 programmable buttons, with context-aware displays ($199)
• Ctrl-Bridge — connects to your car via OBD for deeper control including wipers, fan speed, and automations ($69)
• Ctrl-Stripe — an LED light strip that adds ambient lighting, welcome animations, and visual safety alerts ($69)

Together they give you immediate physical access to over 30 car functions — climate, media, car control — all without touching the screen.

We still sell Ctrl-Bar 1 — because it still works

Ctrl-Bar 1 remains available and fully supported. But Ctrl-Platform represents where we have always wanted to go: a product that feels like a natural part of your Tesla, not something added to it.
